Fingertip Tweed
Fingertip Tweed above: Check Version bki.ow: Stripe Version
In Version I of this pattern, the middle stitch of the 3 knit stitches (which is the slipped stitch of the previous row) presents the back loop, so it is somewhat easier to work it as a "k 1 -b" than as a plain knit stitch. This action produces a third variation, which is not shown; the knitter may try it, and sec what it looks like. Knitting this middle stitch in its front loop, in spite of the way it is turned, makes the twisted diagonal point above each check; so be sure to do this if you want your sample to look like the illustration. This distinction does not exist, of course, in Version II.
Cast on with Color C.
