Usingyarn A, work three stitches of moss at each end of every row, and at the same time, working in stocking stitch, and changingcolours as indicated and usi ng the intarsia technique, work rows 1-21 from eltherthe Christmas Star Coaster chart orthe Christmas Tree Coaster chart.

Working in yarn A only, continue as follows:

Repeat last row twice more.

Cast off In moss stitch.

TO MAKE UP

Cuta piece offabrictofltallowingXin (6mm) for hem all the way round. Sew a hem all around the edge to neaten it up. Now stitch thefabrictothe back ofthe coaster, around three sides. Slide the scented potpourri in and then stitch thefourth side into place.

A quick and neat way to add a new baJl of yarn to your knitting.

Hold the new ball at the back of your work and insert youf needle ready to work the next stitch.
Wind the new ball around the right-hand needle and work the stitch.

As you knit, twist the tail end of the new ball as you go across the row to weave it in.
